Bologna, Italy to Introduce Social Credit System in September

By Koen Jacobs, April 20, 2022

Last month, the mayor of Bologna, Matteo Lepore, and Massimo Bugani, councilor for the city’s new digital agenda, introduced one of Europe’s first social credit systems, the “Smart Citizen Wallet“.

Participation in the Smart Citizen Wallet pilot project is not mandatory, claim the two local politicians. But through incentives they hope to lure as many participants as possible.

Virtuous citizens“, as the councilor calls them, who commit to proper waste segregation (defined by the city government), who use public transportation, who “don’t waste energy” or who “don’t get fined by the local police” will earn a score. This score is converted into incentives, or rewards.

The rewards during the pilot phase include discounts on public transportation, and discounts on water, electricity and gas bills.

Clearly and unfortunately, the toxic communitarian agenda is advancing steadily, also in Italy. And it can be expected that the “new economic model” for Ukraine will include a similar community credits system. Unless enough people find the courage to reject and undo the hardcore communitarian doctrine that is being imposed and enforced since at least March 11, 2020.
