Trump: ‘The US Will Take Over the Gaza Strip’

In a press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, President Donald Trump discussed the U.S. potentially taking an “ownership position” in rebuilding the Gaza Strip.

In May 2024, the Netanyahu regime published its plan for Gaza, called “Gaza 2035“. “The plan lays out a three-step program for returning Gaza to self-governance and eventually reintegrating Gaza into the regional economy“, wrote Yuval Barnea for the Jerusalem Post.

“For that international economic zone, the Israeli government will give exclusive commercial rights to the U.S. and Arab states. If any ‘Palestinian’ government is created by 2035, it will be a puppet of the Israeli government. Gaza, in 2035, will be a template for other 15-minute (C40) cities. Where political communitarianism at its worst will be revealed, imposed and violently enforced. Building an entire new city, ‘Gaza 2035’, takes years of planning and negotiating. All the contracts with Arab states and the U.S. (and probably China and Russia) were signed long before October 7, 2023.”
